About KC!

Hello! I’ve been a freelance artist since about 2013. Before that, I worked for a small flash game company called, Hero Interactive making art for games. (see this list for games worked on) It was a lot of fun! After that, I was having a hard time finding a new job so I turned to doing art for people online.

How long have I been doing art?

I’ve been doing art practically all my life. I grew up with ADD so I was quite the crazy kid for my parents. The only things that could get me to stay focused were puzzles and arts & crafts. So they gave me lots of those. lol
In school teachers recognized me as an artist so they let me doodle on most of my homework. Probably because they understood too that it helped me focus.
For college, I went to Kendall College of Art and Design and graduated with a degree in digital illustration with a focus on animation. I was really hoping to get into a company making flash games because I loved working in that program.

When did you become a Furry?
Growing up I always loved cartoons, mostly ones with cartoon animals. I had a group of friends that enjoyed drawing some furries, or we called them anthros then. But then the bad stigma about furries rolled in and none of them were into that anymore. So I kept it to my self. I always notice people liked my art more when I drew a furry or a human character with ears and tail. When I lost my job as a game artist, I also had lost a lot of those previous friends. I needed to make money so I turned to the furry fandom to see how it would work out. I started making orders right away and soon stopped job searching to focus on making commissions. I really enjoy drawing for furries but still enjoy making human art as well.

Pets!
I have two cats Malla and Nari. They are both tuxedo cats, you can tell Nari is the one with forehead marking and supper long whiskers. Malla is like a lazy food-loving Garfield. Nari is energetic and not afraid of anything. Nari has this thing we call a ninja jump where she jumps up at something (wall, furniture, leg, etc) then kicks of it with her hind legs.
They both love to chase each other and play fight.

Fursuits and Plushies
For fursuits, I really wanted one but it’s cheaper to make it your self so I made ahead and got an overwhelming response from it. Someone said it looked like it was the 10th head that I made. Later the next year my work computer got stuck in repair hell so I took on a few fursuit commissions and was amazed to have gotten two customers with how little I had to show for. Right now I have a small space to work on suits and plushies. I’m hoping soon I can move into a house and do more with fursuits.
I’ve messed with making plushies when I was a kid. though out the years I’ve learned some things and feel like it’s something I would like to get into. I have a large collection of plushies offline. It would be so fun to make them. XD
